Torus holds generally two conferences a year; one in the Spring when the Annual General Meeting takes place in a well known European capital or economic centre. The other is held in a city members are unlikely to visit on business.

The purpose of the conference is as follows:

  • for members to meet up and renew friendships and business relationships
  • to create a showcase for new members and guests
  • to learn about legal news and changes in other countries
  • for members to keep up with the strategy, plans and progress of Torus
  • to do some sightseeing and enjoy the food and culture of the location

Forthcoming Conferences

Edinburgh: 6th/7th November 2020 (Updated 10th March 2020)

Previous Conferences

Bordeaux, October 2019

The members received two excellent presentations in Bordeaux at their conference.

Stephané Garcia from Invest in Bordeaux examined the undoubted benefits and advantages of setting up in business in the city and its surrounding environs. See the link to his presentation notes here.

The second presentation was made by Barbara Brun, on behalf of her principal Philippe Senechal, who with his business partner set up a new business called KOREGRAF in Bordeaux a few years ago. Owing to a funeral Philippe was unable to attend at the last minute. Barbara is based at the Bordeaux office of their company, whose aim is to enable developers to obtain, through crowdfunding, requisite investment funds.

The members during their conference discussed (inevitably!) BREXIT as well as receiving country reports from the Italy, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and UK.
