Preamble
TORUS is a network of consultants, who work independently and with emphasis on a close personal relationship to their clients. They work and think internationally and in co-operation with different consulting professions. Globalisation is understood as a new challenge and prospect to client and consultant. Likewise globalisation is seen by TORUS Consultants as an additional global responsibility not yet sufficiently covered by binding international interdisciplinary standards.
Therefore all TORUS Consultants, independent from their profession or nationality, agree to be bound by this Code of Ethics:
I.
TORUS Consultants are committed to a respectable and legally impeccable conduct in the course of their consultancy work as well as their professional and business activities in general.
TORUS Consultants are committed to high quality standards. They serve their clients with competence and experience and shall endeavour to add value to their clients business.
TORUS Consultants shall carry out their commissions in accordance with the contractual provisions, completely and in due time. They shall focus on the well-considered interests of their client.
TORUS Consultants shall strictly adhere to all statutory, professional or contractual confidentiality obligations. This applies especially when they work in co-operation with other TORUS Consultants.
TORUS Consultants shall endeavour to offer a transparent, appropriate and flexible structure of remuneration or fees. Dumping fees are not permitted as they are finally to the cost of quality.
II.
TORUS Consultants shall in their internal relationship within TORUS observe good professional practice, loyalty and solidarity.
Commissions procured by an TORUS Consultant or subcommissions shall be carried out by any TORUS Consultant with equal diligence as commissions from his own clients.
Before accepting such procured or subcommissions a TORUS Consultant is obliged to disclose any lack of specific competence or experience or any possible conflict of interests.
All TORUS Consultants are obliged to actively contribute to the work of the TORUS organisation. They shall endeavour to develop new ideas to further the prospects of the Association. TORUS Consultants are prepared to let other TORUS Consultants participate in and benefit from their ideas and projects.
III.
Whenever a TORUS Consultant under binding provisions of his profession is subject to obligations more stringent than the obligations under this Code the more stringent obligations shall prevail.
No provision of this Code shall establish any obligation upon TORUS Consultants to violate any provisions of their respective professional rules.
When co-operating with TORUS Consultants of other professions or from other countries TORUS Consultants shall take into account and observe their divergent professional rules. All TORUS Consultants participating in a specific co-operation are obliged to inform each other on such divergent rules, which may be relevant to the co-operation.
IV.
All TORUS Consultants submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Court of Ethics set up in accordance with the Rules of TORUS.
