The Umbrella

TORUS International Consultants Association is an umbrella organisation set up by Accountants, Lawyers and Consultants world-wide. The organisation shall be subject to English law. Under the umbrella you will find various types of professional organisations tailored to comply with different national or professional laws and bye-laws.

The purpose of TORUS is to be an international network to represent independent professional firms and assist them in all spheres of their business. While its structure reflects the multicultural nature of the network, its main features and services show its homogenous character:

The Executive Committee

The members of the Executive Committee are elected annually and comprise the following (current names of officers in brackets):

  1. President or for the time being two Joint Presidents
    (David Lambert, Reiner Hesse)
  2. Vice-presidents
    Each country which has at least six members will be represented by a vice-president.
    (Wolfgang Habel for Germany, Francesco Naeff for Switzerland, Geoffrey Rogers for UK and Ireland)
  3. Treasurer
    (Beat Baikhardt)
  4. Secretary General
    (James Innes)

The Court of Ethics

To attain TORUS's goals TORUS follows a set of strict rules for the admittance of new members and it has developed a "Code of Ethics" and established a "Court of Ethics" especially for the members of the Association. The members of the Court of Ethics comprise the following:

  1. President

  2. Two judges to be appointed from time to time.
